After the success of the first shoot with Hardys Salon, the guys at Hardys soon started talking about their next shoot. After talking about ideas, we came up with the idea of having opposites, sweet and girly against Strong and edgy. We wanted to show that no matter the person, with the right hair and styling everyone can take on a different persona.
So we set about finding two models who fit their brief, the first was obvious, in the form of model Katie Heron (who also starred in the first shoot.) The second model was a very new to modelling in the form of Isabelle Cooper. I was also able to bring some of my other creative team onboard in this shoot. Starting with Makeup artist Rachael Holmes, who was as excited as ever about the looks. Finally my stylist, Nicki Grainger, of What Alice Found fame. She brought enough creative and crazy outfits for 3 shoots.
Back to shooting in a familiar surroundings, this was another studio shoot, but on a smaller scale. The first set of images we shot were the sweet, girlier look. The images were all designed to look quite commercial with a soft feel to the hair and styling. Here are a few of the images:
Once we had completed the soft relaxed feeling images, we ramped up the music and went for something different. As Hardysalon has an underground alter ego, these images reflected that. The background was changed to be darker and more aggressive. As was the styling with flashes of colour and the use of several props including hats and flags. These images provided an opposite to the image above, check out the results below:
